We also offer vaccine titers to check and see if new vaccines are needed. While Tucson used to have fewer mosquitoes and very little heartworm disease, that is unfortunately no longer the case. As a result, we recommend that all pets be tested for this deadly disease and then started on preventatives. As a bonus, the preventative we use also treats for common intestinal parasites. Since many of these intestinal parasites can be transferred to people (especially children or the elderly!), this preventative is beneficial in multiple ways.
